Solve Your Own Problems: Dig Deep into You
Life has seemed like a whirlpool and this past week I have gotten the biggest reality check that has ever hit me. Although I have been ambitious throughout my life so far by flying into the world very early and encountering many experiences, there is something missing. I don’t think that I have ever truly knew what I wanted so I simply have been going with the wind to land here, an open field not knowing what to plant
I was feeling very low and uncertain on what should be my next move. I was feeling very overwhelmed, so I called my father and expressed what I was feeling and dealing with. After talking for a bit, he said “Brianna, no one is coming to save you. You’re capable go out and do it.” That was the first time that I have heard those words directed at me, but it hit me like a ton of bricks. Initially, I felt terror but as I mediated on it throughout the day I felt more at ease.
I told myself that I can literally do anything that I desire and I have no obligations that are holding me back. So, I came up with a game plan over the course of a week. I realized the depth and the importance of understanding that YOU MUST FIX YOUR OWN LIFE. One of the best lessons that I have learned in life is “although your traumas are not your fault, they are your problem.” I must take ownership of the cards that I have been dealt and get back in the game. Life is truly what you make of it, and it can be intimidating because we are such a big world with an infinite number of directions to go. But that should be the beauty, just pick a direction and run with it. Pivot when necessary, options are endless.
So, I created a worksheet to help me, help myself. First, I wrote I list of my problems and things I would like to change for myself. Second, for each problem I wrote why it is important to me. And last, I wrote how I can and will change each starting with the first step. Breaking things down into smaller goals makes problem solving much more manageable. Many times when I look at the end goal I began ruminating on all the steps needed to achieve the goal creating waves of anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. To bring more order to this process of solving my own problems, this document will assist me with remembering my goals and staying the course to continue to strive.
Learn Yourself
The most important school anyone will go to is the school within, you, yourself. To do so is challenging because we do not dedicate everything to ourselves, our time, attention, grace, compassion, and drive. We divvy out so much to others that we lack enough for ourselves. Of course, some are in positions with additional responsibilities, but balance is everything. Take the time to go within yourself and remember what makes you light up, that is your gift to the world and yourself. Find that creativity within. Tap into your creative side and ask yourself, “how can I utilize my gifts as my contribution to the world.” Try anything, try everything but don’t stop until you find something. The Universe rewards those of pure intent and consistency.
These are concepts that has been on my heart heavy this last week, so I am talking to myself and sharing it with you. It is scary but exciting. My therapist told me, “Two things can be true at the same time. “So here I am, challenging myself and striving while having fun with new adventures. Remember only you can fix you, plus, it’ll be more rewarding in the end. You’ll remember the process, the hard work and dedication that it took you to get there.
